Episode Info: pression and unexpected Solutions started listening to this book lost connections. Uncovering the real causes of causes of depression by Johann Hari if you know what it’s fucking brilliant it really is it’s a really really good book I’m not going to maybe I’ll go into a little bit. Basically did antidepressants and he was an advocate of them for a long time while she was younger, and then he was researching them and effectively this big guy said no there’s more to it than just taking antidepressants it’s more than just brain chemistry and in balance he was angry, then he started looking into it and you got all the all the reports that companies, submitted to the FDA to get these drugs Justified the long and short of it is all you need to have to reports that say that gives a positive effect but doesn’t matter how many studies you do you can do for 100 trials. 400 trials and only two of them need to show positive results and then even in those two trials when you dive into the data.[10:25] The results of questionable when you look into the full 400 reports it starts getting deep, I’m basically the long and short of it is antidepressants and I’m not I’m not saying this because I’ve not finished the book I have used them historically and for the nine months I was on it I found it really hard life what it work well but, the whole point in the book is maybe maybe there’s no limit of Placebo going on there. And I don’t know man I’m not it’s a really really good book I’m not going to give my break down to Nottingham finish there. And I listen to an audible and the guy who wrote the book read it and it reads it really well so lost connections, I’ve always been an advocate of antidepressants but it’s always good to get information on the other side to even if you think it’s nonsense or maybe even more so if you feel it’s nonsense, give this book a lesson it’s fucking it’s good it’s good good information in there that’s what’s important in science, researched information not just opinions and you can see that because the guy went in and an advocate off them and from his research to try and prove the strength of it he’s changed his mind.[11:49] So to finish off we have got something to do with my.[11:59] Child eating meat shoes interesting.[12:05] My child not eating me I don’t I don’t really know why I forwarded this for.[12:15] Me and my wife having a discussion on the email and it was basically to do with a parent in school.[12:23] Forced a child to eat me a lot forced it would said I would not meet its fucking sweet easier go on the kid at the meeting. My wife was like that’s not good what I said it’s the context that’s important as what my response was our daughter doesn’t eat meat, and she doesn’t eat meat because she doesn’t want animals to have been harmed, yeah we try and tempt with McDonald’s and sounds fucking awful but I don’t care as it actually think me too good for you. It’s important part of your diet and she’s only 4 so she’s growing so I do try and get it to eat meat. My wife’s not even a vegetarian to talk with trying to get her to eat meat for her in that sense but she doesn’t want to eat me because.[13:15] Animals have been hurt and Joe what that’s brilliant to Craig Martin a big standing in it. Dad used to worry about the health components and not eating meat at such a young age but, we will order to make her own choice in that regard but what I said to my wife regarding the other child was it depends why did the child wasn’t eating meat the other child of the other parent is that it wasn’t because I didn’t like the taste, I just didn’t like meat then tricking you know, is is ok in my opinion.[13:55] What we do as parents to get to try and get healthy stuff the best as we can do for our children. Anyway comes the aeroplane and all that nonsense but if the child’s made a moral stance or there no I wouldn’t trick I wouldn’t trick the kitten to eat in, and meet at I think the reason for this is it all about context so I wouldn’t, trick my child into eating meat because the reason she’s decided not to have another child isn’t eating meat because doesn’t like the taste of something like that will then I wouldn’t find it a problem taking the kids to eat meat, benefit change your opinion of meat and they have a healthy bar healthy balanced diet self, with all things in life context is very very important the outcome can be completely different. Tricking the child to eat meat or not for the context of the reason to refuse it I think is important to the situation rightly or wrongly I don’t know. Now it’s Christmas is coming up so Happy Christmas Happy Christmas Happy Christmas and wrapping up I’ll phone hope you get lots of presents and I will talk to you in 2. ......
