Been feeling overwhelmed by your to-do list? Maybe not even sure where to start on your big biz vision?
It's easy to get caught up in your daily responsibilities and feel immobilized by them.
Between being a Mom, dealing with business operations, and then add clients on top.......I get overwhelmed super easy at times.
In those moments I find myself getting pre-occupied with Facebook, tweaking my website, or getting lost in emails. Anything to avoid the actual importante stuff in my biz + life.
Virtual fist bump if you can relate, comadre.
The important thing to realize is that overwhelm is a feeling. And feelings come from thoughts. And guess what? You can change your thoughts- Whew! Thank Goddess.
Okay, so how shall you change your thoughts?
PAY ATTENTION TO GRIZELDA
Grizelda is the voice in the back of my mind that doubts, fears, and is just an over-protective bitch friend that rambles on and on about all the potential dangers of oh, everything.
So first thing, let's look at your self talk to pinpoint what's going on upstairs.
You might notice yourself saying things like:
I don't know where to start.
I keep going round and round in circles.
I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders.
I have so much to do and not enough time.
It's important to be conscious of your self talk so you can flip it to something more supportive of your goals. My fave way of doing this is to turn these statements into positive questions instead of firm affirmations-which can feel false.
So, I don't where to start turns into If I knew where to start, what would my first step be?
I keep going round and round in circles becomes what's one thing I can focus on to completion to break this cycle?
Get it, my lovely? You become solution oriented by asking these questions versus staying stuck in Grizelda's overwhelmed thought process.
Now let's actually get some ish done.
MOVE THE ENERGY OUT OF YOUR BODY
Everything is energy, including your thoughts and feelings. Move overwhelmed energy out of your body and onto paper.
A HUGE reason you're feeling so overwhelmed-most likely- is that you're thinking of the 501 things you want to do, how big the task is, how long it's gonna take, etc. etc.
I like to use mindmaps to chunk things down so they don't feel like climbing friggin Mt. Everest. Not that I've ever done that.
Mindmaps are a great way to plan it all out in a visual manner-which really helps me to see
