Rachel Ricketts’ beautiful and heart-breaking story exposes grief as an experience, not an emotion and inspires with a deep depth of experience and wisdom. After helping her mother starve herself to death following a debilitating 20-year battle with multiple sclerosis, Rachel was overcome with grief and loss. Despite this loss, though, she says that the her greatest grief is a result of the intersection of her race and gender. And this grief led to the incredible work she is now doing in the world.

Want a sneak peek? We talk about…

  • how her childhood and mother’s death led to the work she does today around grief and anti-racism
  • grief as an experience not an emotion and how to sit with it to move through it
  • how her greatest grief is a result of the intersection of her race and gender
  • how white women are causing harm every day, if you’re not actively engaged in anti-racism
  • how burnout is a form of grief and why it’s not a quick fix
