Leicestershire Legends retold by Black Annis

In today's episode I interview Dr Lucy Ryder who is an honorary researcher in the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Chester. Lucy is an interdisciplinary researcher focusing on the study of social (cultural) and historical landscapes, spatial archaeology – focusing on GIS, memory, perception, folkloric narratives, and magic and the supernatural.

Dr Lucy Ryder

We talk about Lucy's research, how women have shaped landscapes, what it's like to be a woman archaeologist and the importance of finding a good a mentor.

Check out Lucy's blog Landscape Tales and follow her on Twitter

Also be sure to check out the Women Are Boring blog! It is excellent. And definitely not boring.

And here are some links if you're interested in checking out some fairy myths and myths about Black Annie.

And remember slayers, keep a look out for a good mentor, support each other, be kind to yourself, work at your own pace, and try not to lose the joy!

A xx
