Episode Info: The Tomorrow's Visitors Podcast is hosted by Kieran Swail, i3 Innovation and Technology Specialist in Tourism at Southern Regional College with assistance from Aoidin O'Connor, Foundation Degree student at SRC. Here we reflect on what's happening in tourism in our region, review the latest developments in technology and tourism and share learning from our i3 clients and provide our listeners with tips and ideas for improving their business. In Podcast 1 we hear from four local people involved in tourism. Firstly, Aoidin O'Connor talks about her experience returning to study a Foundation Degree in Travel & Tourism in SRC. Aoidin is currently on placement with i3 at SRC and Matthews Tours. Our next interview is with Colm Murphy of Matthews Tours. The company recently celebrated 20 years in business launched an arts initiative to help local artists in the region. Colm is a Failte Ireland All Island Tour Guide and he talks about how the tours started. Peter Rafferty from Walk the Mournes, talks about the geology, appeal, history of the Mournes and how more visitors are seeking out his services to take them out on guided walks. Peter is a trained GeoAmbassador having completed the Mourne Cooley Gullion GeoTourism Training Programme. Finally, William O'Sullivan takes us on a quick tour of the new 1500sq metres Irish Military War Museum in Collon, Co. Meath. The museum is set out in Dioramas with World War 1 trenches and Russian, German, British and American Sections. Plan for 2016 include an extension to the current building and accommodation for camping in the grounds.
