Episode Info: I originally wanted to do this episode on Juneteenth, but then I realized there were other current events to discuss that all follow a similar theme of justice.  So, we discuss Juneteenth, why it is important, wonder why more people do not know about it and then assess whether it should be a national holiday.  Then we get into the efforts many are making to tear down statues of Confederate leaders, Christopher Columbus, and others across America.  Finally, we talk about the Supreme Court’s recent denial of President’s Trump executive order blocking DACA immigrants.    We also discuss a range of other people and places including the Cornel West, George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, Abraham Lincoln, Emancipation Proclamation, Galveston, 13th amendment, school choice, Black History, W.E.B. DuBois, The Watchmen, Tulsa race massacre, Rodney King, Tommie Smith, states’ rights, National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I have a Dream, Benjamin Franklin, Charlottesville, Robert E. Lee, Italy, Rome, Bologna, Slovenia, Lake Bled, Croatia, Verona, Munich, Hitler, Vicksburg, Nazi, Native Americans, John Muir, Leland Stanford, Steve Jobs, Coit Tower, Joe DiMaggio, A.E. Giannini, Bank of Italy, Bank of America, San Mateo, San Francisco, FDR, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, George Takai, internment camps, Pledge of Allegiance, DREAM Act, President Trump, War on Immigrants, Illegal Immigration, Border Wall, Theodore Roosevelt.   #JohnRileyProject #BLM #DACA #Juneteenth #StatueofDisplacement   JRP0141     John Riley Project Info:   Bookings?
