Circumstance/Event/External Force ---> triggersThoughts ---> causeFeelings --->driveActions ---> createOutcome ---> results provide evidence you will use next time that Circumstance/Event/External Force comes at you again - which will trigger this loop and recreate the behavior to the point it becomes a habituated response and slides into the unconscious.
