Welcome back everybody I appreciate you tuning in to the podcast. This is Jeremy, I want to talk today about something that is of interest to me, and I think it should be of interest to you and that is Buyer’s Agency Agreements. This is something that you may or may not heard much about depending upon where you’re located in the country, depending on your broker and the MLS that you are a part of. But this is something that I think everyone should be utilizing and be familiar with if you aren’t already. For those of you that are using Buyer’s Agency Agreements, I applaud you. Well done. I hope that you have found them to be beneficial. For those of you that have never heard about a Buyer’s Agency Agreements’ or are leery on diving in and using them, I would encourage you to listen to today’s podcast, and hopefully we can talk about enough of the benefits to where you’re going to say, “I’m going to give it a shot.” I’m going to dive right in and talk about what they are, when you use them, why would you use them and the benefits that come from that. I think that would be a value to you.
When I begin in real estate back in 1999, one of the first actions after I got my real estate licence and was plugged in with my new broker company, the company requested that I participate in the week-long training class that they had set up. This was designed for agents new to the business and essentially, not only to help launch the agent’s career off on the right track but also, let’s be honest, as you can figure it by now, protect the brokers, by keeping agents from being ill informed and making stupid decisions. As real estate agents, we the power to really mess things over for our brokerage company and the company said that you should go to training and we’re going to cover it for you and off you go. For the most part, now granted, it was a long time ago, but my recollection of it is very favourable and very positive.
