Oct 16 16
Hey listeners, Jean here with a rebroadcast of one of my most popular episodes of the Podcast where I interview Dr Ellen Albertson PhD Registered Dietitian Nutritionist on the topic of Body Image and Confidence. This topic is so important because Body Confidence is the foundation of all self-confidence. The issue of objectifying women and their bodies has perhaps never received more attention in the media than in the recent weeks. So it seems to be an appropriate time to re-issue this episode The disrespect of women and their bodies, attributed in large part to the treatment of women by the media, harms women and young girls socially, psychologically and physically. If you have a negative image of your body just know you are not alone. Up to 80% of women are reported to be dis-satisfied with their body at some level. Even super models suffer from body image issues. I asked Dr Ellen to tell us: How women can stop harshly judging their bodies, comparing them self to others and never feeling they are ‘good enough,’ How to learn to love your body, have self-compassion, and manage your “Inner critic that judges you so harshly about your appearance and How to begin to value yourself and stop allowing body image and your looks to determine your self-worth.
