What are some of the tools or some technology that is available? What are you finding to be the most popular tool/activity? Where and how did you get the equipment in your makerspace? What is the size of the makerspace? Is this conducive to your activities? We take a situation such as: “Your principal comes to you and says she just saw a presentation at a conference about a makerspace. Now, she wants you to create one. Where do you start?” We also flipped the conversation and had the same scenario but that the teacher wanted to start one and was approaching the principal. Great conversation here! Here are some of the things that Elissa shared that she either wants or has in her makerspace: LEGO 3D Printer littleBits Perler beads Snowflake cutouts K'nex Q-bitz Needles/Yarn Dollar Store STEM (marshmallows and toothpicks, popsicle sticks, etc). Build your makerspace around what you want to accomplish, what you want to happen.Click To Tweet | If the kids aren't making, you don't have a makerspace.Click To Tweet Share Feedback, Comments, or Questions!
