In this episode, I speak with Victor Ehikhamenor, a Nigerian artist who creates paintings, drawings, and installations. He combines patterns with abstract forms to create a unique style of contemporary works. Victor recently exhibited in the Nigerian pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale, where his work explored the themes of identity, history and spirituality. As a continuation of this series, his current body of works reference the imagery and symbolism of both Edo traditions and Catholicism.
