Episode Info

Episode Info: This week, we speak with historian Dr. Alexander Rose about the AMC series Turn, as well as his book Washington's Spies, on which the series is based. Set in New York during the Revolutionary War, Turn explores the people involved in one of George Washington's spy rings. Patriots vs Loyalists, Continental soldiers vs British soldiers, father vs son, husband vs wife, and man vs monster (metaphorically, anyway)... Dr. Rose is also a writer and producer on the show, so we talk history, accuracy vs authenticity, writing, television, AMC, and internet connections... Let us know what you think! Tweet us (@historybanter), post on our Facebook page (facebook.com/historybanterpodcast), or leave an iTunes review. Thanks again for listening! On the next podcast - Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (HBO, 2007) w/ Dr. John Gram Intro music from this episode: "Bring Me Your Loves" from St. Vincent by St. Vincent - ilovestvincent.com/ Outro music from this episode: "Hush (Theme From Turn)" from AMC's Turn: Washington's Spies Original Soundtrack Season 1 by Joy Williams & Matt Berninger
