A Heartwarming Insight into Draft2Digital
Marti Dumas has shared this very enjoyable interview with Kevin Tumlinson, Marketing Director of Draft2Digital. It was a pleasure to know more about the open-hearted man behind the company and learn something of his life. Writers will warm to his sincere author-centric attitude and that certainly encourages me to use his services.
Are you in a sweat over those fearful and expensive formatting issues? Fear no more. It was an eye-opener to learn that his company will freely do the formatting for you, from a Word doc into all different formats, Mobi file, ePub, PDF, etc.
This alone is a godsend for we impoverished authors!
Kevin helps us to clarify what to do first and where and when to do it. Although many authors swear by offering ‘permafree’ books, I was cheered to hear that Kevin thinks it has had its day. His advice is to “create something else as a hook, instead of giving away free books.” He feels it is rather demeaning the value of your book to give it away after all the effort you put into writing it. I agree. Even though some authors find it helpful for gaining Opt-ins, it goes against the grain to give away your baby, when you have worked hard to produce it.
I also learned that Draft2Digital makes no charge for any of their services, as they understand the needs of fledgling authors. They will distribute your ebook to all the major outlets and only a take a 10% fee whenever you sell a book. So naturally, they invest all their efforts to ensure that happens.
For struggling authors, it seems Draft2Digital is the way to go!
Kevin offers us lots of valuable insider tips in this interview, so it’s really worth a listen.
And also a lot of fun!
