Love: The Beginning (Book 4, Chapter 37) — Live from London
3 days ago
Vanessa and Casper explore the theme of "love" in the final chapter of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." This week we come to you live from our London show. We discuss the grief and generosity of Cedric's parents, the false promise of the Triwizard Tournament, and whether love can be political. We were so very lucky to have our dear friend and mentor, Stephanie Paulsell, with us to tell a story from her experience.Next week we're doing a wrap-up of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Thanks to everyone who came out to the London show. I'm Addicted to this Amazing Podcast!
An enormous thanks to the makers of this podcast for helping me realize that the Harry Potter series is truly a safe space where I can dive in and feel comforted, loved, and be reminded of the magic of these books. This podcast is for book nerds everywhere! Anyone who finds joy and satisfaction in closely examining literary works for deeper themes and connections to his/her life will love this podcast.
Since graduating from college a few years ago, I haven't exerted the energy to actively and critically read a book like I used to. This show gives me the pleasure that practice used to bring, but with added fun (because the two hosts are awesome and hilarious!).
As a resolutely non-religious person, I found the inclusion of spiritual practices and methodology not intrusive or annoying in the least (no offense, Casper and Vanessa, I swear), and I actually found the hosts' spiritual perspectives extremely though-provoking. They truly bring so much wisdom, fun, and love to reading the Harry Potter books, and I can't wait for more episodes! Actually, I can't wait, I'm dying!!

Incredible, thoughtful, a Harry Potter fan staple
I am so in love with this show. Each episode is not only is delightful and entertaining but the content often resonates with me on a spiritual level. The hosts, Vanessa and Casper respectfully and carefully explore the world of Harry Potter chapter by chapter as a means to better connect with the world around us. The result is an intelligent and meaningful discussion that truly blurs the boundaries between J.K. Rowling's brilliant wizarding world and current (Muggle) affairs. It often serves as my pep talk on my way into work.

My favorite podcast of all time
If you love Harry Potter, you will LOVE this podcast. Casper and Vanessa are incredibly insightful and funny. This is a perfect way to engage with the series in a way that is both filled with nostalgia and an opportunity for new learning. While there are some religious themes, and as an atheist with a general dislike of religion and the harm it's caused, I don't always necessarily appreciate them, they are presented in a spiritual, not dogmatic sense. I do think the religious aspects can be toned down a bit (I know I know, it has 'sacred text' right in the title) but the joy and meaning in this podcast far outweigh any negatives. I'd also recommend seeing Casper and Vanessa live. I saw their live show in NY and it was SO much fun. I look forward to listening to this podcast more than any other.
