Episode Info: On today's extremely busy 'BradCast', we do our best to make some sense of the utter chaos and breaking news of the past 24 hours:  an update on the devastating mudflows that have killed at least 17 in Southern California. A federal judge temporarily blocked Donald Trump's attempt to lift the DACA program. Trump's Dept. of Interior chief Ryan Zinke reversed an offshore drilling expansion plan, but only for the state of Florida, in what appears to be a political (and unlawful) favor to Florida's Governor Rick Scott.  In election news, Virginia Democrat Shelly Simonds conceded her 94th District race against Republican David Yancey without seeking a second "recount”. In VA's 28th House District race, an appeals court denied the Democrats' emergency motion to call a new election, after the Republican was declared the winner by 73 votes even though 147 voters received the wrong ballot on Election Day. In North Carolina, a federal court panel issued a blistering ruling on Tuesday night, finding state Republicans had violated the Constitution's Equal Protection Clause by blatantly gerrymandering Congressional districts on a partisan basis. The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments challenging Ohio Secretary of State John Husted's scheme to purge voter rolls of voters have gone just two years without voting in a federal election. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) unanimously rejected Energy Sec. Rick Perry's scheme to subsidize coal and nuclear plants under the false guise of "grid resiliency".Read more »
