The boys talked about kipperdoodles getting his blue belt. They give the rundown of the happenings during the test and just how much “fun” it was.
We got a listener email asking about how to get their kid involved in Jiu Jitsu and the boys give their best “advice”.
This is part two of keeping kids interested in Jiu Jitsu so we pick up where we left off last week.
First we talked about what to do if your child’s interest wanes in BJJ and they want to quit. Short answer: don’t let them.
Next we talked about the many benefits of Jiu-Jitsu during your school years. We believe that having the skills to be able to protect yourself and have a high amount of confidence is tantamount to doing well in school. That being said, we think it’s ok to push your kids a bit to make sure they don’t quit.
We give advice on how to encourage your kids the right way as a parent in Jiu-Jitsu or any other sport.
Being this is a sport where your child can be physically dominated, we discuss how to deal with that in your own kids journey. Basically don’t ever make them feel like they disappoint you if they lose and keep the focus on learning instead of winning.Read more »
