Episode Info:

In this episode of Geek Cinema Society, David Luzader, Nicole Davis, and their guest, Clint Carroll, delve into 1984’s ‘Dune.’

Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel, “Dune,” is a classic of science fiction. The 1984 film adaptation is not. David Lynch gave it a solid effort, and was dedicated enough to shoot for weeks in the Mexican desert, but the results were, well, mixed. And odd. And not appealing to mass audiences, who stayed away in droves. This episode we welcomed Clint Carroll, the other half of the Whatcha Gonna Do? podcast, who talked with David and Nicole about deep topics like how big of an info dump can you fit into a 137-minute movie? (Hint: quite a lot.) How can a movie this long have an ending this rushed? And WHAT is with the space vagina pilot in a train car?

For listeners who would like to follow along and treat Geek Cinema Society as a film club of sorts, we will be watching ‘The Avengers’ next. Brett Stewart will also be gone next week, but will return the following week!
