Episode Info: The tribulation has nothing to do with recent natural disasters.I’m mad! I have seen way too much news, and too many articles that relate these storms, earthquakes, and the latest eclipse to some sort of end-time, or tribulation scenario. What’s worse, is the fact that it is coming from supposed biblical scholars, pastors and preachers! They are the ones who should know better! Consequently, many people are buying into a non-biblical concept.Natural disasters not related to the Tribulation.Let me provoke your thinking, therefore quelling some fears…First of all, there is no such thing found in the Bible as a, “seven year tribulation!” Try as you might, you cannot find it.Second, the tribulation that is mentioned in the Bible lasts approximately 3.5 years. However, it has absolutely nothing to do with the entire world! It was a period of judgment that fell upon Jerusalem, and it ended in A.D. 70 with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. As a result of that destruction, the Old Covenant system was over.Third, if a preacher tells you that the tribulation is coming, and especially if he says it lasts seven years, ask him to show it to you in the Bible. He cannot find it since it is not there. He must be parroting what other fear-mongering prophecy “hexperts” are espousing. In conclusion, it is biblically safe to say that we are not about to enter into some seven year period of great affliction that signals the return of Christ. We can conclude that God is not using massive natural disasters to punish, nor to get our attention. Natural disasters are just that, natural. They happen when atmospheric conditions are right for them to happen. We have no need to worry that God would destroy man under the pretense of directing him.
