Episode Info:

Evie had a great conversation with Dawn Veltri who used to be her marketing expert for her business.

Dawn opens up in this episode about her son, Holden. Holden was diagnosed with cancer at the early age of 2 years old. She started to notice that her son was dealing with strange things before his second birthday. After several different doctors appointments, it was confirmed that it was cancer.

Both Dawn and Evie are connected because of dealing with the fear of facing the possible mortality of their own children. A lot of people may say "I know" when you tell them your story but they don't, especially when they haven't experienced something that involves your child's health and safety. Dawn's son Holden was diagnosed with Stage 3 Group 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma.

Her child's doctor told her that this type of cancer has 65% survival rate, but being a mother, she's more worried about the remaining percentage although it's less than the chances that her child's situation could be better. She was offered a surgery to remove Holden's prostate but she refused since she knew it's something that her son will have to suffer for the rest of his life. So treated Holden with chemotherapy and after 42 weeks of treatment, the doctor scanned him and there were no more active cells at that time but didn't declare him cancer free, but as time goes by Holden's situation got better and better. Now he's living a life of a normal kid.

Evie believes all diseases start in childhood. It is very critical to take care of our children and teach them how to take care of themselves.
