Episode Info:

Welcome to Easy to Linger. This podcast covers the very small town of White Cloud in Northeast Kansas. Although there is not much to see in the town, it is a nice place to stop for people driving between Kansas City and Omaha. I know many people living in Kansas City drive to the Omaha Zoo. This tour gives you a chance to stretch your legs. The town’s sites include a Four State Lookout Point and a monument to a compassionate 10-year-old boy. The tour begins at the red brick church on the north side of Main Street near 2nd Street. When you face the church look to the right. A small plaque dedicated to Wilbur Chapman stands in front of the building.

After looking at the plaque, walk west on Main Street to 3rd Street. Main Street is listed on the Historic Register of Historic Places based on glimpse it gives of a river town in the mid and late 1800s. At 3rd Street turn right to walk towards the Four State Lookout Point. You will need to walk there on a clear day to hope to see all four states.
