Don't Close Your Eyes: Live Radio Theatre!
About This Show
Don't Close Your Eyes is Montana's longest-running and most-popular live radio theatre presentation! Each week during the summer, writer/directors Ryan Cassavaugh and Keith Suta take turns writing and presenting a brand-new one-hour play in a variety of genres from the golden age of radio! Since 2011, DCYE has produced weekly radio plays all summer long at Bozeman's Verge Theater!
Each new play is written in just one week previous in order to recreate the vibrant energy and demands of live radio! The genres are as wide-ranging as the schedule is tight: sci-fi, comedy, western, thriller, comedy, and more!
Presented live on stage with multi-voiced casts and entirely analog sound effects, DCYE is a unique and original anthology production that the whole family can enjoy! Season 6, Episode 1: "Foxglove Greens!"
A Snobs-vs-Parvenus Comedy Written and Directed by Keith Suta!
Foxglove Greens is Great Britain's most-exclusive golf course, having only one member, and serving primarly as a refuge for wild foxes and eccentrics like Lady Wethered. But when ruthless American real estate developer Fred McLeod comes to buy the entire village of Alderburgh, he finds himself engaged in a high-stakes game for the future of the course against a plucky university dropout, a constantly drunk Admiral, and his own son! It's the snobs versus the other snobs in this racous comedy with just a little bit of golf in it!
Featuring: Leyla Kirschner as Rosalind Benjamin; Bennett Drozic as Craig McLeod and the Scientist; Kari Doll as Ella Theodore and Hippolata Crinklesburg; Sarah Suta as Lady Wethered and Tansy; Richard Dunbar as Fred McLeod and Mr. Hogan; and Keith Suta as the Admiral and Hubert! Live Sound Effects performed by Kyle Suta and Liam Meyer! Original music composed and performed by Garrett Robinson!
Recorded live at Bozeman, Montana's Verge Theater on June 11, 2016! What you hear is what the audience heard with no overdubs and minimal post-production on volume to try to make it comfortable to your ears! All sound effects were analog and executed live by our fantastic performers!
