Episode 59: Titus van der Spek is a lecturer, research consultant and coach who is passionate about helping others explore how they can create blended environmental, social and commercial value. In 2014 Titus co-authored ‘Leadership in Social Business’, a book that provides practitioner-driven insights into social enterprises leadership strategies. Titus completed his PhD in 2018 from the University of Essex in the UK entitled ‘Exploring the crux of Social Entrepreneurship - The pursuit of blended value creation’. He has worked in the field of entrepreneurship and development consulting for 8 years. His clients include: Amnesty International, Local Giving, the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC), Action Aid NL, ICS, SOS Children’s Villages, Oxfam Novib, The European Commission and Context, International Cooperation (CIC). As a lecturer he has been active for 5 years. He is currently a lecturer in business management at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Leiden University’s Honours Academy. In 2020 Titus will stop his work as academic in the Netherlands and move to Bangladesh to work on impact incubation and education.
