Episode Info:

Farnoosh Brock grew up in Iran during the Iranian Revolution, immigrated with her family to the United States as a child, and became an electrical engineer and rising leader at a Fortune 100 company. But her self-described boredom -- and a challenge from her husband to attend a blogging conference in 2010 -- spun her life into an entirely new direction.

Today, Farnoosh is a consultant, executive coach, author, speaker and trainer who is on a mission to change conversations around selling to serving, which she says can be a competitive advantage in not only in business and career, but in life.

In this interview, Farnoosh and Dave discuss:

  • Why so many people resist and resent selling
  • The difference between being of service and being subservient to others
  • How Farnoosh immigrated to the United States with her family and has gone on to now train the likes of the United States Air Force in leadership crisis training

She is the author of The Serving Mindset: Stop Selling and Grow Your Business. In addition, she is the creator of several leadership and advancement courses.

A big thanks to Farnoosh for joining us for the author reading and interview on Written, Spoken!
