This is so helpful
I love this podcast and find the interviews so helpful. The information is valuable not stuff I learned in school. Thanks, Garrett!

A Room Full of Mentors
She lives in the hills. She's 75, sharp as a pin, and as famous as funnel cake. She's my composition instructor and I love her. My work has shot up the flagpole with her tutelage. But she's spent her career in academia. My career is outside of academia. When it comes to growing my composition business, she's wide-eyed. Enter The Portfolio Composer.
Garrett Hope's interviews with working composers, musicians, authors, and other hobnobbers builds on my music education. It's like going to a support group, but you're in a room full of mentors, and everyone has special insight to share about the business of music composition. And Garrett is the grand orchestrator. Gracefully teasing out all their tricks.
Don't tell Garrett this, but after most episodes I feel like a thief. The support group disperses and I slowly walk out of the room wide-eyed with a bag full of cash. It's that informative and inspired.
