Episode Info

Episode Info: Welcome to the inaugural podcast episode! I’m so excited to bring you guys my take on the tactical community as I grow from Rookie 2 Reaper! It all started a few years ago when I had to have a 2 level spinal fusion. There’s now a titanium plate holding 3 of my vertebrae together in my neck. So what happens if I get punched in the face or a crazy guy threatens my wife and my home? I am unable to physically protect my wife and my home because of my surgery. I could be killed, and anyone could, you could be killed driving a car, but you take safety precautions when driving like wearing your seatbelt. So I decided to become educated about being a second-amendment-endowed American that needs to get “armed up”. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. So I started getting educated and after some time I realized that I was falling headlong into a community that I think we all know is there, and sometimes it’s taboo to talk about at parties, but there is an enormous amount of people that are interested in the tactical community. There is an enormous amount of product and there is a crazy amount of money changing hands and I am just fascinated by it all! This can be intimidating and even I was a little intimidated, which most people would tell does not easily happen. There are a ton of people out there sharing what they know, but is there anyone out there giving the viewpoint of someone who is just entering this world and has that deer in the headlights look? I don’t think there is and that’s what I want R2R to be. I want people to understand what it’s like to first discover the community and second what it’s like to join the community and that it’s ok to be a Rookie, we’ve all been there and I’m still there! What You’ll Learn in This Episode In this episode, you will learn about muzzle safety and it’s all from the perspective of a rookie. Muzzle safety is more than being aware of where your gun is pointed, it’s a mentality. It’s so important that the muzzle is pointed down range, at the sky, or at the floor (not your foot or someone else’s) at all times. Tune in to hear how I keep my friends and family safe when I take them to the range and learn from some of the crazy things I’ve seen that will remind you how important it is to have a mindset of safety. Items Mentioned 9:00 – Muzzle Safety 14:38 – Teen muzzles himself 5 times 17:55 – Don’t be that guy 21:00 – Gear Spotlight: The SureFire X300 Thanks for listening!
