3 Things We Learned
Get comfortable with the money discussion
Money is a conversation so many of us are uncomfortable with, and this bleeds into how we ask to get paid what we’re worth. Get comfortable with talking about it with your close confidants because if you don’t, you won’t be able to have the conversation with someone who doesn’t know you.
Sometimes you’re going to have “means-to-an-end” jobs
In our career trajectory we’re going to have dreams jobs that are the ultimate goal, but some jobs will just be pitstops. These are important because they teach us more about what we really want, and lead us closer towards that ultimate job.
Being a next-level executive is all about knowing when and how to push
You can’t bulldoze your way through things when you’re running an organization with billions in it. You have to find the right leadership team and the ways to set the right strategic direction.
Life has a great duality to it. You will experience ups and downs and have legendary moments and losing moments. It’s so critical that you know what your worth is and surround yourself with the right people. When you know your value and your North Star, you will be able to navigate life while taking lessons where you get them and growing every step of the way. This is what will help you determine your next move and execute it gracefully.

Fantastic business advice around category design
Legends & Losers is a great podcast that focuses on the concept of creating a category for you and your business. I'm fairly new to the show - I first hear Christopher on the Art of Charm Podcast and was amazed by the value he gave there. I'm now listening to every new episode. The topics are wide-ranging and he's got some amazing guests. I was super impressed by the episode with his live call to an expedition 30 miles from the South Pole. I love the long format and depth that he can get into with his guests thanks to that.
As I explore category design for my own business, I'll continue to use the advice I gain from this show.

My Favorite Hangout
This is quickly becoming my favorite, go to hangout, every week. Incredible guests speaking on and having conversations that no one else is having today. Chris and Colin are real and vulnerable and it shows up big time in everything they do. I'm convinced that one day Lochhead will figure out how to do a podcast while drinking scotch and surfing all at the same time and when that day comes I know they will make you feel like you're on a board right next to them. If you're not listening to this be prepared to be left behind in the near future...

Don't think it's not for you. That's not Legendary
I'm not a tech guy.
I've driven by Silicon Valley, but I've never been there.
I'm a therapist. And a veteran. There is no reason why a tech-centered Silicon Valley focused podcast would be anywhere on my radar.
And if I thought that this podcast wasn't for me, I couldn't be more wrong.
There is not an episode that I listen to that I don't take something away from. In this current environment of inauthenticity and pre-packaged baloney, there is a lack of real conversations about real stuff by real people. Not so here...you get the real deal. And that's what's needed. Too many times we try to get above the noise, shout to be heard, scream from the rooftops...we try to be bigger, better, louder, faster. That's not legendary. That's a fool's game, a loser's game.
My veteran brothers and sisters are legendary, and can learn to be more legendary.
The veterans I work with and talk to about veteran mental health are legendary, and can learn to be more legendary.
Don't pass it up, you won't know what you're missing and you'll get your lunch money taken by someone who does listen to it. Because they're Legendary.
