Sociability Books: Lou Knows What To Do
Sociability Books, Inc.: Kimberly Tice, M.S, CCC-SLP &Venita Litvack, M.A., CCC-SLP, We are two speech-language pathologists who have a passion for working with children and making speech therapy fun! Our story began back in 2015 when we were working together at a charter school for autism. One day we started discussing how there were no published books available for children that addressed basic life skills. After a year and a lot of Starbucks meetings, the first title in our social book series, Lou Knows What to Do: Supermarket was ready to be shared with the world! In October 2016, we exhibited at a local Autism Speaks walk and received amazing feedback. So then the question became, "How do we get this into people's hands?" Thankfully, we found Boystown Press early on in the process and as they say, "The rest is history!" We also wanted to create a blog that provides free resources and tips for parents and professionals. We love sharing fun activities that can be completed in any time frame to promote language development, because we know it can be hard to find the "right time" to work on these skills. We appreciate your support and hope you find these resources helpful! Please follow our blog or Facebook page so that we can share tips and new releases with you. Please free to contact us and leave comments. We would LOVE to hear from you! :) Kimberly Tice, M.S, CCC-SLP has over 10 years experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as a certified special education teacher and speech-language pathologist in both New York and Florida. She has experience in providing individual and group interventions in the areas of literacy, social skills, feeding, and language in a variety of settings. In 2013, Kim opened a private practice to focus on providing social language skills intervention to children with ASD. Re-directing her efforts to being the ultimate speechie mom, she currently holds a part-time position at a charter school that primarily serves students ages 5-18 with ASD. Aside from her professional background, Kim enjoys running marathons and spending time with her family. Venita Litvack, M.A., CCC-SLP has over 5 years experience working with individuals with AS
