Everyone’s personal style is different, so building a fashion brand requires a particularly large amount of empathy, as well as the ability to envision future trends. This week on That Moment we’re exploring the world of fashion.

First up, we talk to Maggie Winter, co-Founder of AYR, a brand that design seasonless apparel for everyday life. Maggie and two friends left high-profile fashion jobs to launch a brand they'd want to work for, making clothes they'd want to wear. But being a digitally native brand with pop-up shops had an unexpected side effect: allowing them to hear exactly what their customers want to wear, too. This might be a glimpse into the future of the fashion industry—when customers have the final say in what brands make.

Then host Doree Shafrir talks to Mindy Sheier, Founder of Runway of Dreams, who was moved to act when her differently-abled son was the only kid in his school who couldn't wear a cool pair of jeans. This organization works with brands like Tommy Hilfiger to design adaptive lines that are equal parts fashion and practicality.
