Kirby Miles is a Tennessee-based artist who utilizes the term of biomythography to concoct feminine composites of synthetic fabrics and fur, congealed crystalline drops, and revelatory text. Kirby received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2019 and a BFA in Painting from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has exhibited at the Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan, HIVE art space in Pennsylvania, Versa Gallery in Tennessee, among others. She has received an Art Residency from Chautauqua School of Art, a Roberta J McKibbin Memorial Scholarship, a Karin A. And Melvin H Johnson Scholarship, the VACI Partners Scholarship and the Carol Barinas Memorial Award from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
