Show #118 --- April 23, 2018
Welcome to Boomer Boulevard --- Memory Lane for Baby Boomers, but everyone is welcome! Here is the line-up for this week:
1. Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar 6-21-58 "Virtuous Mobster Matter"
Johnny receives a phone call from an ex-mobster and gang member he helped go straight many years ago. Now, one of the group seems to have reverted to his old mobster ways, forcing Johnny to travel to South Carolina to help save his old friends from falling back into serious crime -- including murder!
2. Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy 1-17-54 Guest: Liberace
Edgar has fun with Charlie and Mortimer during the much listened to monologues that began each show. Then Liberace visits and Charlie takes us on a parody of the old radio & TV program "You Are There". Where are we going? To find out how Liberace got his start! Lots of fun.
3. Gunsmoke 5-2-53 "Tacetta"
Three gunmen come to Dodge. Two of them apparently become jealous when the third refuses to share dances with a barmaid he is buying drinks for. But is the girl really the problem? Or are the two just looking to settle some past problem? And how does the matter end in one man hanging before the final showdown?
To my knowledge, this is the only episode where Chester actually gets involved in a face-to-face gunfight where he must outdraw his opponent. Unique episode with great sound.
Come and share some stories, memories, laughs and tears.
