Episode Info: I read this article on Prodigal Magazine not too long ago, called When God Doesn't Heal. It was written by Tanya Marlow, who shares the not oft told story of what it's like to live with M.E. After I read it, and checked out her website, I knew she would be a great guest to have here. What is M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis)? M.E. (myalgic encephalomyelitis) is an autoimmune/neurological illness, sometimes categorized under the umbrella term of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It causes severe muscle exhaustion and pain on minor exertion, and a whole host of neurological symptoms. Learn more about M.E. on Tanya’s blog here. Who is Tanya Marlow? Tanya Marlow was in Christian ministry for a decade and a lecturer in Biblical Theology. Now she reads Bible stories to her toddler as she learns what it means to be a mum who is housebound with an autoimmune illness. She blogs at Thorns and Gold on the Bible, suffering, and the messy edges of life. Follow Tanya on Twitter at @Tanya_Marlow or Like her Facebook page Thorns and Gold (not just to keep up to date with her posts and bits of inspiration, but also to encourage and bless her). Why should I listen to this podcast? Perhaps you feel stuck. Perhaps you have a serious illness that has left you doubting God's goodness. Perhaps you have begged God for healing yet it did not come. Perhaps you have to live with this debilitating "thorn" in your flesh -- despite it not making sense, despite that you are a Christ follower, despite that you've submitted your life to Him, despite praying for what might feel like forever. These are just a few reasons to listen to Tanya's story and the insights she shares in this podcast. I hope you take a listen, check out her blog, read her Prodigal post, and share this with your friends.  Also, I would really appreciate leaving me some feedback on iTunes here. Thanks! *Note: due to multiple Skype fails and connection issues, this was one of the most difficult conversations to edit. Tanya was really patient with me as I tried multiple times to reconnect and have her repeat what she just said. I did my best to splice it all together into one cohesive piece. Thank you. *ps. Something messed up with my feed on iTunes, so all the old podcasts aren't showing. Working on getting that fixed.
