Episode Info:

Evolution of Sound is an experimental improv concert format that includes ten musicians performing in rotating duos. Scott Bookman, a veteran musician from my hometown of Lancaster, PA brought the idea to me when I was developing a concert series for boundary pushing artists back in 2014. Together with musicians Kyle Yuditsky and Nick Christenson, and VJ, Steve Ulrich, we produced a series of these concerts at The Candy Factory, a coworking space in the heart of Lancaster. Scott’s love of improv evolved into his current band, The Vivien Leigh Documentary, and my experience with the shows evolved into a new experimental format I’ve been playing with called The Now.
