Douglas J. Witten, a bilingual mediator and arbitrator, founded Innovative ADR in 2015. He has mediated approximately 1000 cases and has been a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution since 2003. For years recognizing parties’ need to resolve disputes efficiently and identify constructive alternatives to traditional litigation, Mr. Witten brings a unique combination of experience and a passion for problem-solving to every case in which he is involved.

For 13 years prior to starting Innovative ADR, Mr. Witten served Georgia’s workers’ compensation agency in management roles including Deputy Director and Chief Mediator of the ADR Division, Appellate Division Director, and Attorney General Liaison. Before that, Mr. Witten practiced for the healthcare and M&A departments of King & Spalding LLP and Long, Aldridge & Norman LLP (n/k/a Dentons), gaining heath and corporate law expertise representing a wide range of clients in transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters.

Mr. Witten has delivered numerous presentations and published an array of articles addressing domestic and international ADR topics, workers’ compensation, and health law. He has a focused interest in exploring and expanding the use of ADR in traditional and non-traditional healthcare settings, cross-border disputes, and other matters where alternatives to litigation may be desirable.
