How to Start the Conversation
After you finish your basic introduction, it is good to let the other person know what you do. This includes saying the company you work at and your role or position at the company. There are two common ways to say this:
I belong to the ~(position/what you do) department at ~(company name).
I am in the ~(position/what you do) department at ~(company name).
After using this statement, you can give them more details about the job. They might ask you follow up questions about the job, so be prepared to explain more details about your company and the job that you do.
The places we recommend to find networking events in Hawaii are meetup.com, Facebook events, yelp.com, or free magazines.
