This week on Dead Sexy Radio we welcome very special guest John Lehr. John is the star and writer of QuickDraw on Hulu. QuickDraw is a improv comedy western Starring John Lehr and directed by Nancy Hower. It is set in the town of Great Bend. It also stars character actor Bob Clenentin as shank and the beautiful Allison Dunbar as Honey Shaw, the towns resident prostitute and saloon owner.
QuickDraw has a very loyal and dedicated fan base, who actively support the show and John is the epitome of fan friendly, interacting with his fans both online and in person at impromptu fan gatherings, like a recent one in New York City. At the time I am writing this QuickDraw is still waiting confirmation on a third season. Hopes are high as it was just named one of the 12 buzziest straming series on television.
The interview was conducted last week, and unfortunately Dead Sexy Radio co hist Eliza Jayne was under the weather so Dixie went it alone. The main subject was of course Quick Draw but also ventured into John's other projects, the other cast members, and the state of television programming in general.
Eliza Jayne makes it back for the wrap around segments, originally we had planned on focusing more on comedy, but instead Eliza and Dixie ended up on the subject of the recent East Coast shark attacks. Strnagely enough the shark attacks happen to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Jaws. Well they sort of coincide, enough so that it's pretty damn sure to be related. Can't trust those damn sharks, or Spielberg. The dynamical duo also talk a bit about the stupidity of putting your baby on rail road tracks for a photo shoot, and finally Dixie tries to convince Eliza to watch QuickDraw and learn to dance like Honey.
