Aug 30, 2017
Jim McCarthy is an individual who helps companies transform their dysfunctional teams into peak performance teams. With 20 years experience in Silicon Valley, he's helping organizations in turmoil to become more focused, innovative and successful.
Living an expansive life, he's worked as an English teacher in Frankfurt, a business journalist in Madrid, a phone salesman in the Bay Area, and a McKinsey consultant in Munich. After earning his MBA at Stanford in 1996, he went on to become employee #258 at Yahoo, NextTag, BlueLithium, and Drawbridge.
On February 5, 2013, his doctor called him up and told him that Jim had cancer. While he's in good health now, the experience of receiving this diagnosis forced him to face his mortality and think hard about his legacy.
On this episode of the podcast, we discussed Jim's life and story, and more about what he does today with his seminars and workshops on happiness, goal setting, and leadership. He's helped me define my own path with the podcast and we also get in to "What is Happy?" and touch on his mission of living and communicating to others a life of enjoyment and abundant pleasure, purpose and peace in their careers and their lives.
