Write Your Own Story with Autumn Beam
About This Show
As women we are often stressed, overcommitted, unbalanced, and lost in the land of adulting. We seek to fulfill ourselves with the things we think we need or want, and often times we are headed in the wrong direction with good intentions. We set high expectations for ourselves or compare ourselves to others. When you can embrace who God created you to be and the journey He has you on then your experience will have ripple effects toward all the lives we touch even when we think no one is looking (especially our kids).
What do YOU want? Who are you, REALLY? If you don’t know or are beginning to discover that now, welcome to Write Your Own Story: your weekly dose of inspiration, encouragement and personal growth with Host, Autumn Beam.

37: Hope While You’re Hurting with Melinda Means
5 days ago
Melinda is a mother and author living 15-minutes from the beach in Florida. She and I chat about her beach woes and the thing she is obsessing over: rest! We talk about the need for mental rest, even when you can’t get physical rest, as well as the lies we tell ourselves about the kinds of rest we think we need to recharge (not that we don’t like those things).
Melinda is the author of the recent release: Invisible Wounds: Hope While You’re Hurting. She opens up to me about the pain she has been in for years, but no one can see it. She questioned God’s goodness, his purpose and why He would allow someone to suffer the way that she has suffered for so long. At the worst time in her pain (and worst possible time ever for her career), God began to show her His truth and the plan He has had for her all along. Whether you’re suffering from physical, emotional, or spiritual pain Melinda’s words will give you a whole new perspective on it today.
