A New Year, New Beginnings, & a Goodbye
Hi, I hope you all had a wonderful new years. I did, and like everyone else I’m really excited for 2016.
So today’s show is different than my past shows. I’ve got some news to share with you.
Around October of last year I started really taking a deep look at my business, what made me happy, what didn't, what was working and what wasn’t.
I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal, and while that worked a lot when I was younger, I’ve seemed to have outgrown it. I still have tendencies to make sudden changes and announcements because that’s who I am and old habits die hard...but with any kind of growth, it’s long and slow. So I’m still learning. One thing that is clear and hard to ignore is those sort of fly by the night decisions no longer work for me and they’re just not viable from a business stand point.
2016 is all about making choices that serve my business. And one of those big decisions is letting this podcast go.
I started podcasting with my old blog in 2011, and I loved it and I still love it today. But truth be told, I started this podcast with no clear goals in mind for my business, and to be honest a lot of my ideas for this show were residual from my last show. Which felt stale after a while. Don’t get me wrong, I have had an incredible time producing and running this show, I’ve gotten to hang out with people I admire and learn so much about other artists, that in and of itself has been a true gift.
I do have plans for another show down the road, but right now I don’t have the time or energy to dedicate to all that comes with running a podcast.
So friends, thank you so much for listening. I’ve heard from so many women through this little podcast about how it inspired them and encouraged them to create. That was another one of the many gifts this show brought me. Truly thank you for listening and hanging out with me here over the past year and a half it has meant so much.
The show will still be available on iTunes and archived on my website, you’ll still be able to listen to it.
If you want to keep up with me beyond the show I would love that - I have a lot of cool offerings happening in my business over the next few months dedicated to artists, makers and small shop own
