How to Say Nice Things to Yourself That You Can Actually Believe [TJJS:EP204]
GET YOUR CHEATSHEETS! Ever see posts floating around Insta or Facebook that tell you to "just think positive" or "be kind to yourself" and you're like, "Ok, sure. I'll get right on that. But, HOW!!?" I totally feel you. If you follow anything remotely inspiring on social, it's likely you've come across these sort of concepts. In my work with both my clients and students, I find they often need much more structure to understand what disempowering things they are saying to themselves, how to know when they tend to be triggered, and what-the-hell to say instead. For many peeps, simply saying "I love myself!" or "I am enough!" feels like a giant, bullshit lie. Now, don't get me wrong, if you can speak that way to yourself with believability and conviction, knock yourself out! However, I do find that many people (probably you) prefer to bridge the gap a bit. In this week's episode, I'll walk you through four, easy steps to catch and alter your internal talk... so that you can start speaking to yourself like a bestie and actually believe the empowering statements you're saying to yourself. Plus, I made you a killer cheatsheet to make your job super easy... so basically, no excuses! This pod explores: Why much of what you say to yourself is actually bullshit How to "catch" your Inner Shit-Talker and what common language to listen for How to build positive mantras you can actually buy into without feeling like a big 'ol liar How to speak to yourself in a positive voice so you can stop feeling like shit

Refreshing, engaging and downright enjoyable ways to improve your life. Free! What more could you ask?
Amy and Mr Smith provide love and life advice you can really take to the bank. I tune in to every pod, even if I don't think it's directly relevant to me. Nine times out of ten, I learn something new, or have some new insight, that gives me a shove in the right direction. Plus, it's always so much fun. These guys love to laugh, and make their listeners laugh, too.
When it comes to the life coaching part, don't expect hand holding or baby steps. Amy tells it to you straight. Reeeeeeeally straight. But only in the way that your best friend would. That's what the pod is like - screwing up your courage to talk to two great friends about your inner worries, and then realising it's not so bad after all and heck, you can even do something about those worries.
Every episode is a joy to listen to. Trust The Joy Junkie.
