Welcome back to the Nordic Components Talking Lead Show episode: TLP 186 Aklys Suppressors & AK47 Torture Tests. This week Lefty hits the old dusty trail to visit good friend of the show Curtis with the VSO Gun Channel. VSO has two of Aklys Defense’s suppressors for test and evaluation. The Kopis (.22 suppressor) and the Pilum (9mm suppressor). Curtis and Lefty talk about their hands-on evaluation of these two amazing cans using them on the Glock 19, Kel-tec Gen-2 Sub2000, a home-built 300 blackout rifle and the Nordic Components NC-22 rifle. The Mono-core Kopis is manufactured from 7075 T-6 aluminum, and fully Type III Hard Coat anodized and weighs in at an amazing 2.4 Oz. (one of the lightest full auto capable suppressors on the market) Rated for all .22LR, .22 Magnum, 17HMR, 17M2 ammunition and Full-Auto rated for .22LR. The Mono-core Pilum is manufactured from 7075 aerospace aluminum that has been fully Mil-Spec Type III Hard Coat anodized. It’s design uses a 3 piece user serviceable system for ease of cleaning and requires NO special tools for disassembly and weighs in at only 8.9 Oz. The Pilum is Full-Auto rated for all 9mm or smaller diameter handgun cartridges. The Pilum suppressor is also rated to handle .38 Special, .357 magnum, .357sig and subsonic 300BLK. Making the most of our time at the VSO proving grounds and range, Curtis had another project for Talking Lead to take part in…The “Will It Drag” firearm torture test. For this edition of “Will It Drag” Curtis has the Century Arms C39-V2 AK47 lined up. Find out if it lived through this grueling physical test. We also continue our interviews from the 2017 SHOT Show with CJ Johnson of the Big 3 East Media Group and Adam with Palmetto State Armory. PSA was elected to receive the Media Choice Award at the last Big 3 East Event but as you know it was cut short due to a hurricane. CJ came to PSA’s booth and, along with several media outlets and other members of the B3E Media awarded Jamin and Adam with the award. We catch up with them after the presentation.
