Episode 92b: How to Write Short Stories with James Scott-Bell
6 days ago
As I mentioned in my last show this is a special episode where I replay the audio of my interview with James Scott-Bell for the Alliance of Independent Authors Indie Fringe Event. You can watch the video of this event and the other Fringe events using this link: http://selfpublishingadvice.org/what-is-indie-author-fringe/ (E-mail sign-up required) James Scott Bell is a graduate of USC law school and began his professional writing career in 1995 with a series of legal thrillers. He later started teaching writing workshops and eventually landed as the fiction columnist for Writer’s Digest magazine. Jim has had numerous bestsellers in both the traditional and indie world, and was the first self-publishing author to be nominated for an International Thriller Writers Award.

Really informative, offers something different
The Begin Self-Publishing Podcast is providing something quite different from all the other self-publishing podcasts that I listen to.
Tim Lewis is the host of the show and it's quite clear that he comes from a technical background.
However, he does not 'over-geek' the show at all, it's totally accessible and packed with useful information.
Whilst firmly focused on the needs and concerns of the indie author, Tim takes a more technical view of things, but his explanations are clear, pertinent and very informative.
The show is made up of a mixtures of guest interviews, observations and updates from Tim and his reviews of self-publishing services and softwares.
I'm hearing some new voices on this show too, it's well worth a listen alongside all the other great indie author podcasts that are available.
