Today, I start out by reading a short excerpt of the new book available ($1 -or higher- for anyone supporting the show) and then I cover the excellent wisdom from Pádraig Ó Tuama (as I read and then reflect on a transcript from a portion of one of favorite broadcasts.) The wisdom Pádraig conveys is something he gleaned from philosopher Robert Pirsig and it involves navigating the difficult situations we often find ourselves in–namely the falsely binary ones. It's not just an answer or a response that is so wise, but he defines a disposition in the world we can take up that allows us to move in and among different sorts of people and situations with more grace and far less anxiety. And, better yet, it allows us the the freedom (sometimes even from ourselves) to not back ourselves into impossible corners when people demand of us either / or answers on complex issues.
