This podcast provides a very interesting look behind the scenes of Axanar, a fan film (excuse me, independent production) currently in the works. I have yet to watch their prequel short, Prelude to Axanar, but if it's even half as good as those guys make it sound, it's got to be some of the best Trek since DS9.
