Michael Racanelli was born into a blue collar, Italian and Polish family on the south side of Chicago. An exceptionally creative child, his parents were very encouraging and he discovered his love of the arts at an early age. His grandfather a lifelong hobbyist photographer, and father a lifelong hobby videographer, Michael was always behind and in front of a camera. Though having many interests, he spent his formative years in the other side of the entertainment business, music. As a self taught multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer, he has performed in and worked with many bands while touring the country. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago, a stint of working on the sets of E.R., Public Enemies, and The Lucky Ones, fanned the flame of his first passion, acting. In 2010, Michael showed up in Los Angeles with only three suitcases, three hundred dollars, and a lot of ambition. He began to work right away, auditioning and being accepted into a scene study class taught by stage, TV, and film actor, Jamison Jones (24, General Hospital, True Detective). Alongside studying under Mr. Jones for over two years, Michael was cast in numerous festival, indie, and short films. He went on to study at Upright Citizens Brigade, and spent a year back in Chicago where he studied at Second City, was cast in a short film, and a regional commercial. Michael headed back to Los Angeles in 2014 where he has started a production company (Antisymmetry) and continues to act, write, produce, and direct projects.
