Our subject for the week was the 1969 Braves team, which were the very first National League West Division Champions. But first we discussed the current Braves team, noting they made a Rule 5 selection and did not trade for Chris Sale. Regarding the 1969 team, we begin by discussing how a team in Atlanta went to the West Division. We also reflected on the team's place in the league, most notably how they were essentially Hank Aaron, Phil Niekro, and a good infield defense. Also, we get into a conversation about the way this team became the setup for years of disappointment for Braves fans, which was not the most pleasant way to end things.
