White Rock bears host to a wide range of cultural activities. One of the most culturally diverse takes in the community theater, both on the stage and behind the scenes. If you aren't involved with or haven't attended a production, then this episode gives you an idea of what you're missing.
In this week’s podcast, host Angel Burch speaks with Fred Partridge, President of the White Rock Players' Club, an organization that has provided first-class community theater to the area since 1944. They talk about the history of the theater, the performances, and what goes into the production of a show. Most importantly, if you are a member of the White Rock community then they want to get you involved in a production as well.
A Little about White Rock’s Volunteer Theater
Fred kicks off this episode by looking back to the early days of the White Rock Players' Club. He paints a picture of what life was like in this sleepy resort town, including the club's original name, where they performed, and what alumni went on to make a living acting in professional local theater or working in the movie and television industry.

Fred and host Angel Burch then go on to discuss the White Rock Players' Club's place in today's White Rock community, and about how you can take part in the action, whether under the spotlight, backstage, or as an audience member. They also discuss answers to these questions:
What kind of productions are put on by the White Rock Players' Club?
Are the writers always something from off-Broadway, or are they local as well?
What happens during a show from the very start until the grand finale?
How many people does it take to produce a show for community theater?
What is the process for auditioning for a White Rock Players' Club show?
