Founder and proprietor of the Congressional Bike Caucus, native Portlander Earl Blumenauer has been fighting for some of the causes nearest and dearest to the Rose City’s heart--wise energy use, sustainable farming, better transportation infrastructure, and public broadcasting (here here!). He led Portland’s “Bike Your Ballot” initiative this fall, and will be popping radio wheelies onstage with us November 17!Darcelle XVDarcelle XV has been called, by none other than OPB, “Portland’s iconic drag queen.” At age 86 (as of November 16!), Walter Cole--stage name: Darcelle-- has been an entertainer, business owner, and community activist for decades in the stitching of Portland’s most fundamental fabric. Darcelle is the oldest performing female impersonator in the country, and her revue, Darcelle XV, is the longest running drag show West of the mighty Mississippi. We’d make a joke about Darcelle being the sequin in Portland’s fabric, but she’s a sequin, and a stitch, and a seam, and a little piece of everything else, too.Naomi PomeroyNaomi Pomeroy is a beast. The 2014 recipient of the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Pacific Northwest, she is a Portland favorite and Oregon native. Don’t let her undergrad degree in History fool you-- Pomeroy’s culinary teeth are thoroughly cut and her creative fangs sink deep. She started Gotham Coffee Shop, Clarklewis, and Gotham Tavern here in our fair city, as well as The Oregonian’s Restaurant of the Year and Willamette Week’s Best Brunch, the aptly named Beast, which she still owns and runs. She’s been featured in Gourmet and Elle, and has been on just about everyone’s list of chefs to watch, including Food & Wine, and yes, Oprah. She’s ambitious, she’s talented-- she’s a true beast.Mohanad ElshiekyMohanad Elshieky is not just one of Portland’s upcoming Geniuses of Comedy, he’s
