The Gear Show with Lisa Gerber
About This Show
Conversations with gear-obsessed individuals to give you, the active outdoors person, the knowledge to be more comfortable, have more fun and get better at something in the outdoors. It's more than specific gear and app recommendations, which we discuss but we also talk about pushing ourselves in the outdoors because we know it makes us better in our personal and professional lives. This means tackling fear, setting ourselves up for success, making ideas happen, adjusting when life takes us on a different path than our dreams.
There is no such thing as bad weather or a bad day, just bad gear.

11: Trail running: Overcoming suffering and achieving "elephant moments"
Professional trail runner and coach, Rene Unser shares with us her training philosophy and habits and tips she incorporates into her every day life as it relates to rest, recovery, and hydration. Along the way, she shares some pretty moving stories and experiences. This is about much more than trail running - it’s about finding your “thing,” maybe hating it at first, then falling in love with it. Even if you aren’t a trail runner, Rene’s story will make you fall in love with it. As in any of my episodes, I hope there is always a bigger lesson that whatever it is you initially hate, then love, is something you can embrace and improve upon - that will eventually lead to greater adventures.
