I AM CANCER
About This Show
A weekly podcast focusing on sharing stories, overcoming adversity and finding inspiration in various aspects of life.
My name is Mike Cohen. I’m a thirty one year old cancer survivor, long distance cyclist, author and inspirational speaker.
Here’s a little about my story:
On January 18, 2004, I was diagnosed with leukemia. Towards the end of my two and half years of chemotherapy treatments, I was also diagnosed with pneumonia, multiple pulmonary embolism and congestive heart failure. In 2012, I celebrated six years cancer free by cycling 3,168 miles in thirty eight days on the same legs which atrophied just a few years back, from La Jolla to NYC.

004 - You Are Not Going to Make it
At a buddy's bachelor party weekend, my good friend & fellow podcaster Dylan Schuck gave me feedback about my previous episodes. He suggested to share my experience of what it was like to be told I wasn't going to make it. Everyone has opinions. Whether professional or personal, they may think they have enough "proof" or information to allow them to share their opinion. What they do not know is, what you have inside of your mind. What you have inside of your heart. Never underestimate anyone. Never judge a book by it's cover. You owe it to them. You owe it to yourself.
