We saw a general theme in Titus of faith, knowledge of truth, and godliness. There is a relationship between these 3. In James, we find him writing to encourage ones who are suffering at the hands of non-believers. James reminds us that these trials grow our faith and they are ultimately for our good. They 'grow us up'; they mature us as believers as they conform us to the image of Christ. We know that God's purposes are good. Steadfastness is required so don't bail, don't quit. It is hard but we will ultimately see that these trials are worth it.
