I this passage, we see the first advent and we are awaiting the 2nd advent. Christ has come. In his coming, he gave his life so we could be free - free from the grip and penalty of sin. This redeemer paid the penalty for our sin. This saving grace, the grace that saves us, also trains us to follow Christ. His commands are not restrictive; they are not a burden. They are how we are made and created. While we wait for Christ's return, we are called to follow him. Christ has come. Christ is coming again. Hallelujah.
